Film and the Law Series: "Scrooged" (1988)

Finding the Redemption Theme in Your Client's Story

Wednesday, December 04, 2024 - In-Person and Webinar options

UMKC CLE Film and the Law Series in partnership with the Investigation & Advocacy Service presents Scrooged, an updated version of the Charles Dickens classic, a perfect holiday-themed example of mitigation and redemption for learning about sentencing strategies in criminal cases. What can sentencing advocates do for clients who will probably not have the fortune to be visited by three ghosts? Local sentencing experts will discuss how to harness redemption and other themes in a client’s life to move sentencing judges and juries toward mercy.
