My Cousin Vinny is a 1992 comedy that follows two New York college students, Bill Gambini (Ralph Macchio) and Stan Rothenstein (Mitchell Whitfield), who are wrongly accused of murder in a small Alabama town. Lacking funds for a top lawyer, Bill calls on his cousin, Vinny Gambini (Joe Pesci), a brash and inexperienced attorney who recently passed the bar. With his fiancée Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei) in tow, Vinny must navigate the Southern legal system and prove his cousins’ innocence. Known for its humor, engaging courtroom scenes, and Tomei’s Oscar-winning performance, the film has become a cult classic and is admired for its surprisingly realistic depiction of legal procedures.
