Best Practices, Ethics, and Professionalism

Tuesday, June 3, 2025 - Webinar

The Me in Mediation
The Me in Mediation offers a thoughtful exploration of your role in the mediation process inviting you to examine how your behaviors, legal framing, advocacy, and decisions influence outcomes. Are you facilitating resolution or unintentionally creating barriers? The program will address legal considerations, including ethical obligations, confidentiality, good faith participation and legal implications of ambiguity and timing in final settlement terms. This session encourages you to assess your presence in mediation, evaluate legal strategy, identify internal and external challenges, and cultivate greater self-awareness to enhance the experience for all participants.
Beyond Ethics, Toward Professionalism in Practice and Mediation
Basic compliance of the ethical rules in practice and mediation is the minimum standard. As advocates in law and champions of the legal profession we should raise the bar towards excellence as found in the professionalism goals. What should we consider as lawyers and mediators to provide a heightened level of service to the client and the legal process? Let’s explore as we elevate beyond ethics toward professionalism.
